Google Meet sign-in shows the number to tap on your phone
For everyone who works with an AI employee
Part of Meeting notes name more speakers and cover long calls
To join Google Meet calls for you, your AI employee signs in with your Google account, and Google may ask you to confirm on your phone. The sign-in step now shows the number to tap, so you can tap the right one.
Why it matters
Setting up meeting notes gets easier: you see exactly which number Google asks you to tap. After you approve, the sign-in checks whether it finished instead of stopping at an unknown step.
- Before
- Google asked you to tap a number you could not see, so you had to guess, and a wrong guess stopped the sign-in.
- Now
- The number and the device Google asked on appear on the sign-in step, and after you approve, the sign-in checks that you are signed in.
What you get
- The number to tap: when Google asks you to tap a number on your phone or tablet, the sign-in step shows that number and which device Google asked.
- A clear next step: if you tap No or a different number, you are asked to start the sign-in again, instead of being stuck on an unknown verification step.
- After you approve: the sign-in waits a few seconds for Google and checks that you are signed in, with the number still on screen.
- Your email address as your sign-in: if you sign in to VEP with your email address, connecting the Google account with that same address is now enough for your AI employee to join Google Meet and email you the notes.
How to use it
In Voice Meetings, under Google Meet access, whenever Google asks you to confirm the sign-in on your phone or tablet.
