Web research that works through the whole list

For everyone who works with an AI employee

Give your AI employee a research task on the web, such as listings that fit your criteria. It works through the whole list and rechecks the matches before it shows them to you.

A chat on a phone: a request for a used carbon road bike in Barcelona under 900 EUR, and the reply that 14 listings were checked and 5 match, all still online
Fourteen listings checked against four criteria, and the five matches opened again before the answer. Example data.

Why it matters

You get an answer you can act on, not a sample of the first page. Tasks such as finding suppliers, comparing offers or checking listings are worked through to the end, with the criteria you gave.

Before
Your AI employee could check a few results, stop partway through a long list saying its time had run out, and suggest loosening your criteria.
Now
Your AI employee works through the list to the end or to the point you set, going on in a follow-up run when a list is very long, and rechecks the matches before it answers.

What you get

  • Works through the list: it is set up to go through the results in order, load more results or the next page, and go on until the list ends or your stopping point is reached.
  • Keeps your criteria: it is set up to keep the criteria you wrote, and to suggest other criteria only after it has done the task as you set it.
  • Rechecks before it answers: it is set up to open the matches again and confirm that each page opens, the details still match and the item is still offered. It drops what is gone and marks what it could not confirm.
  • One tab for the whole task: when your own AI employee uses your Chrome, the steps of one task share one tab, so filters, location and the loaded list stay in place while it opens each item and goes back.
  • Public pages on its own: it reads public pages by itself. Your own AI employee can also use your Chrome when a site needs a real browser, clicks or your sign-in, never the tab you have open.
  • Nothing bought or posted unasked: it is set up never to sign up, buy, post or send anything unless you ask for exactly that, and to hand a sign-in or a captcha back to you.

How to use it

  1. Ask in plain words

In the chat with your AI employee, say what to find, every criterion that matters and when to stop.

    Example

Find me a used road bike for sale in Barcelona, size 54-56, carbon, under 900 EUR. Check every listing, not just the first page.

  2. Connect your Chrome for sites that need it

In the chat with your own AI employee, type /agent and follow the steps to install and pair the VEP Home Agent extension in your Chrome. Use version 1.4 or later. Your Chrome works only for your own AI employee.

  3. Keep Chrome open while it works

Your AI employee works in its own tab of your Chrome while Chrome is open and connected. The tab closes 10 minutes after its last step.

  4. Get checked results

The answer lists the matches it rechecked and marks anything it could not confirm.

Good to know

  • Searching, filtering, paging and reading need no extra request. Signing up, buying, posting or sending needs you to ask for exactly that.
  • If a site asks for a sign-in or a captcha you did not ask it to complete, your AI employee stops and asks you to complete it in your Chrome.
  • Public pages need no extension: your AI employee reads them on its own.
  • A very long search is answered in parts: after about 25 minutes your AI employee is set up to show what it has checked and to go on by itself in a follow-up run a few minutes later.

Updates to this feature

  1. Fixed

Your AI employee answers with what it found when a website is slow

Your AI employee leaves a page that takes too long, answers with what it found and names what it could not check.
